IN CHAPEL THIS MORNING

Rev Susan picked up themes from Social Awareness week and talked specifically about how it is looking to build community. She referred to Scott Peck’s description of how pseudo-community has to move through stages of chaos and emptiness to arrive at the real thing. Rev urged us not to waste our energies on being anti rather than pro things. She also pointed out just how inclusive Jesus was in his ministry, especially towards the marginalised and offenders of ‘purity codes’.

HALF TERM TRANSPORT

Transport lists are now up in the Houses. Girls depart school on the 18 May and return on the 22 May. Flights from Durban Airport are to be booked from 10h00 onwards and return flights to Durban Airport to arrive no later than 18h00. Flights from Pmb Airport can be booked from 08h00 onwards. The deadline for transport requests is the 11 May. Early departures will require permission from Mr Arguile.

IN CHAPEL THIS MORNING

This morning’s Chapel service was led by the Social Awareness Committee who conducted a game of 30 seconds with each section of the chapel identifying the various ‘isms’ to be addressed by the week’s speakers. Today’s talks features Zandi Mgutshini at 2pm in the Indoor Centre, followed by Felicity and Rasikan Moodley at 3pm. Please support this programme as much as possible. It is really close to some girls’ hearts.
