RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):
- Process the monthly payroll including submissions to SARS, Pension Fund and Medical Aid
- Process and oversee all quarterly, year-end, and adjusting journals; maintain and reconcile the general ledger and trial balance
- Prepare and present quarterly management accounts and reports for the Finance Committee
- Manage the annual audit and prepare annual financial statements for the College and associated Trusts
- Serve as primary systems administrator for Sage: user access, maintenance, troubleshooting and upgrades
- Oversee accurate and timely creditor payments and debtors’ management
- Oversee bank accounts and cash flow, including international payments and petty cash administration
- Administer financial aspects of College trusts, including donor reporting, S18A tax certificates, and financial statements
- Support ad hoc financial tasks and administrative functions as needed
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- A relevant Accounting degree, preferably B Comm Honours majoring in Accounting
- Minimum 10 years’ hands-on accounting experience, including financial statement preparation and general ledger management
- Hava a knowledge of, and experience with POPIA and PAIA
- Demonstrate hands-on experience with Sage as a system administrator, not merely a user; strong proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft 365

- The successful candidate will be required to provide a police clearance certificate, and be cleared on the Sexual Offenders Register.
IMPORTANT CONDITIONS:
- This is a full-time role. The requisite working hours are 08h00 – 16h00, Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role it will be a requirement, on occasion, to work after hours.
